About Me (SOKHOM)

Hi readers,

I created a blog today to keep a journal about myself and for my friends to keep updated about me. And I have just learned about blogging, of course.

First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My full name is Leang Sokhom. Most of my friends called me "Sokhom". I also have another name from birth is Sok Heng. I am called so by my relatives since I was born.

I was born in Kandal province, Cambodia where I spent all my school years there. I finished high school in 2000. I started my first university life at Institute of Technology of Camboida (ITC) in Phnom Penh where I studied Chemistry and Food Engineering. I got my Diploma in this major in 2003 and in the same year I started my second university, Institute of Foreign Languages (IFL), in department of English where I spent 4 years (2003-2007) to get a Bachalor Degree in Education in English (TEFL). Within my years at this university, I've been involved in different workplaces. I used to be a part-time teacher of English at ESL (Takhmao), a waste water plant operator at Cocacola company, a Sale and Maketing person at Palm Place apartment serviced, an Executive Secretary at South East Cooperation, and finally a staff at Australian Centre for Education (ACE). ACE is the only place where I've worked for the longest period in my student life. I first started here in August 2005 as a receptionist for about a year. Then, I was promoted to be a Training and Testing Assistant for about 6 months. After that, I was appointed to be a teacher of English. I do enjoy working at ACE alot and I have been working here for more than 3 years already.

I got married in March 2008 to a husband whom I've wished to live my life with.

My life will jump to the next stage which I've never dreamed of. I will leave ACE in April 2009 to continue my Master Degree in International Development at Nagoya University in Japan under Monbugakakusho scholarship.

That's all for me for now.

With Best Regards,
Sokhom
